Diamonds sounds:
Beeping sound (beep-beep-beep).
One to four red lamp boxes on the level meter will light up.
Diamond simulants:
No beeping sound.
No red lamp boxes will light up. Green and/or yellow lamp boxes may light up depending on the type of simulant.
Metal Alert:
Continuous buzzing sound.
(The thermal conductivity of metal can cause a similar indication as a diamond with most thermal probes.)
The Diamond Selector II has a metal alert buzzer to notify when the probe tip touches metal. If the metal alert sound occurs, reposition the probe tip to touch only the tested stone.
